According to reports by TMZ, Cheryl Cole has been dropped from the panel and replaced by Nicole Scherzinger. The Pussycat Doll had previously been confirmed to host the show alongside Steve Jones.

Cheryl has been featured  on adverts in the states and had already began filming.

It is unclear as to why the change has taken place, however the news does come after Dannii Minogues departure from the UK version and concerns for it’s future.

American fans were apparently angry at Cheryl’s choice to sit next to Simon, a place they are used to Paula Abdul occupying.

No contact has come from X Factor bosses as yet…

‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star Amy Childs is set to leave the hit show for her own project in a £1,000,000 deal it has been reported. According to News of the World, Childs will leave TOWIE at the end of the year, along with co-star and cousin Harry, to pursue a show similar to ones we have seen before from the likes of Katie Price, Peter Andre and Kerry Katona. The show will be produced by Can Associates, for whom the reality star’s manager, Claire Powell, works.

The sudden move is thought to have come as Childs is unhappy with the pay and airtime she receives from ITV, despite her popularity with audiences.

A source told NOTW “”Amy is the biggest personality on the show and viewers adore her. But ITV pay all the contestants, including her, a pittance and she has so many fans - so the time is right for her to go it alone.”

According to the stars of the show they received no pay for the first series and despite it’s success they still only earnt £50 per day in its second - generating income from appearances and magazine deals.

Childs’ management hope to present her as a a new and improved version of Katie Price. Price was also formerly managed by Powell, but parted after her spilt from Peter Andre.

A source said “The fact is Jordan’s popularity has waned and there is a gap in the market for a younger and fresher version to come in and steal her thunder.”

E4 are set to launch their own TOWIE style show ‘Made in Chelsea’ on May 9th. The show will follow a group of South-West London’s socially elite.

The girls have been on what has seemed a very long hiatus since 2009, but now, according to reports, it has been announced they will return in 2012 to celebrate their 10 year anniversary.

It is thought the girls will return for at least one performance, although their is talk of a potential worldwide tour.

The band’s manager Hilary Shaw told MTV “Everybody wants them to make a comeback and it will be next year, well, it is their 10th anniversary so there will be something.”

Following their win on Popstars: The Rivals, Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts, Sarah Harding and Kimberley Walsh went on to have huge success with 2 number 1 albums and 20 consecutive top 10 singles. However in 2009, following fifth studio album, ‘Out of Control’, the girls decided to break to pursue solo projects.

We have seen Cheryl go on to top the charts as a solo artist and find fame as an X Factor Judge while the other girls have had some success with various television and music projects.

Tabloid speculation has been rife since the break, with consistent rumours of jealousy over Cheryl’s fame, arguments within the group and even plans to break up completely. However Shaw has been quick to dismiss the claims, stating “The girls are still getting on great, they speak all the time, and that includes Cheryl and Nadine with the other girls. Cheryl is keen to get back with the girls and is planning something which could be a one-off or some gigs.”

The possibility of new material has been dismissed, apparently due to the girls’ busy schedules.

In 2009, however, Fascination signed the band for a further 3 albums, so we can be sure to see them back in the charts at some point.

Bosses at Doctor Who have announced that they are ‘planning something suitable’ as a tibute for the actress in this weekends series debut.

The NOTW revealed today that Michael Jackson’s death may not have been the responsibility of Dr. Conrad Murray.

Due to new evidence it will apparently be very difficult to convict Murray of any crime. The paper reported that new evidence, including anonomous fingerprints found on the fatal syringe, may belong to the person behind the stars death. It has been put forward that a Mr X figure delivered the dose before fleeing with over $1Million in cash.

The new evidence was found by Murray’s legal team, who previously asked for the coroner’s evidence box. Inside were a number of syringes and following investigation it has been found the one which killed Jackson bares prints other than Murray’s.

A source told the paper “The mystery fingerprints are the biggest breakthrough for Murray so far. If it is handled right it would mean a jury cannot convict him.

“Murray and Michael were the only ones supposedly at the house at the time. And all the syringes were vacuum-packed and sterile before use. The fingerprints point to someone else being there and using the fatal syringe.”

Murray is currently being tried for causing death by neglegence - something he has always denied -  and if found guilty could be imprisoned for 4 years and lose his ability to work as a doctor. If this new evidence stands up in court it could see him walk free.

It is thought the prosecution will have a tough time trying to disprove the evidence as vital CCTV footage from the night of Jackson’s death is missing.

The source said “The missing CCTV tape also helps the theory.

“Bodyguards say they handed over 24 hours-worth of footage from the day, which showed everyone who came and went.

“Chernoff’s been told it is no longer available. Somehow only a few minutes of the footage is left.”

A jury for the case will be selected this week and statements are set to start in court from May 9th, with several members of the Jackson family due to take to the stand.

A Jackson family spokesman said: “They are concerned about all the matters around the death. They are unsure Conrad Murray will ever go to prison.”

In true American Showbiz fashion, Murray’s legal team have concucted the slogan “If the print doesn’t fit, you must aquit”.
